What do you think God sees when He looks at you? Do you carry burdens of self-condemnation and feeling of unworthiness? They say, "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder," and if we look at ourselves and believe we are unattractive or unworthy, then that is how we will live our lives--engulfed in feelings of shame and self-pity.
When God looks at you, if you are in Christ, He no longer sees your sin and unworthiness. When God looks at you He sees the blood of Jesus. The One who took all your filthy rags and exchanged them for His robes of righteousness. In God's eyes, you are precious, honored, loved and adored. Like a rose blooming in adversity, you are His most valuable possession.
This week on Joyful Living, we learn to look at ourselves not through the world's eyes, or even through our own eyes, but through the eyes of our Creator.
